Week 45 Crockpot Emperor’s Chicken

INGREDIENTS

3 1/2 lbs chicken thighs 

1/3 cup soy sauce 

2 tablespoons coconut sugar

1 teaspoon garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, ground

green onion, sliced (optional)

DIRECTIONS

 

  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Pour the sauce ingredients over the chicken parts.
  3. Cover the slow cooker with a lid and simmer on high power for one hour.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and cook about 5 hours longer, or until the meat juices run clear.
  5. Place chicken on plates or a serving platter; spoon sauce over chicken and sprinkle with green onions, if desired.
