Melissa Metcalf Le Roy

Melissa Metcalf Le Roy, is the past executive director of two nonprofit organizations; Foothills Equestrian Nature Center and the US Green Building Council of South Carolina. She is very passionate about the environment and has been awarded a Master Naturalist certification by Clemson University’s South Carolina Master Naturalist program, where she devotes long hours as a volunteer. Her passion for Nature and the Environment has also driven her to develop OnFire Naturals, an all-natural, organic, native medicinal skin care line for men and women.

Melissa, a graduate of the Duke University and Western Carolina Univeristy teaches and presents non-profit management classes throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia for Duke University. She is a past board member of the North Carolina Center for Non-Profits. She is also the author of the past “Non-Profit Leadership” column for the Tryon Daily Bulletin, and offers her services as a consultant through her own firm, OnFire Nonprofit Consulting.

Melissa, also worked at Foothills Wellness Center for seven year where she helped people heal themselves inside and out. She has been awarded her CHNP (Certified Holistic Nutritional Practitioner) and a certificate in Native American Health Studies through Western Carolina University.

Once very overweight and unhealthy before meeting Dr. Picone at Foothills Wellness Center she now actively participates in road races, half marathons and Spartan Races. Her other active hobbies include Mountain Biking, Hiking and StandUp Paddle Board. In 2014 & 2015 Melissa successfully achieved the Spartan Trifecta, competing in all three Spartan Races distances in one year. Melissa is certified in TRX, Group Fitness, Personal Training and Yoga Instruction and teaches and trains at the Lifestyles Fitness Center in Forest City, NC.

A Western North Carolina native, she lives in Forest City, North Carolina with her husband Chris, and fur babies Cali and Chandra.
